E-max veneers in Turkey
E-max is a brand of lithium-disilicate ceramic used for veneers and crowns. It combines good strength with a translucent, natural look, which makes it one of the most common veneer materials offered in Turkey.

What E-max is
E-max is a trade name for lithium-disilicate glass-ceramic made by Ivoclar. It is pressed or milled into thin veneers and crowns and is valued because it is stronger than traditional feldspathic porcelain while keeping much of its translucency. That balance of strength and appearance is why it is a popular default for cosmetic veneers, particularly where a tooth takes some bite force.
Because E-max is a form of porcelain, most of what applies to porcelain veneers — candidacy, preparation, bonding, aftercare — applies here too. The difference is the material choice.

No single material is best for everyone: feldspathic can look the most natural for a front tooth, E-max is a strong all-rounder, and zirconia is chosen where strength outweighs the need for translucency. For a whole-mouth reconstruction, a dentist may combine materials.

The procedure, step by step
- Assessment and design. Examination, scan or impression, shade selection and often a digital smile preview.
- Preparation. A thin layer of enamel is usually removed so the veneer fits naturally.
- Fabrication. The E-max veneer is pressed or milled and characterised by the ceramist; temporaries may be worn meanwhile.
- Bonding. The veneer is etched, bonded with resin cement and cured; the bite is adjusted and the surface polished.
Durability and aftercare
Bonded E-max veneers commonly last in the region of 10–15 years or more with good care; longevity depends on the bite, hygiene and grinding habits. The ceramic resists staining, but the surrounding gum and natural tooth still need daily brushing and flossing and regular check-ups. A night guard is often advised for grinders, and biting very hard objects should be avoided.
Risks and things to weigh

How E-max veneers are made
E-max restorations are produced in one of two ways, and both are used in Turkish laboratories:
- Pressed The ceramic is heated and pressed into a mould made from the design, then characterised by a ceramist. This route is traditional and allows fine control of shade and detail.
- Milled (CAD/CAM) The veneer is milled from a ceramic block by computer-guided machinery from a digital scan, then finished and glazed. This is faster and enables same-week or, for some single units, same-day turnaround.
Neither method is automatically superior; the result depends on the design, the ceramist's finishing and the accuracy of the scan or impression. For a highly visible single tooth, some clinicians add surface staining and glaze to fine-tune the match with neighbouring teeth. Ask whether your veneers are pressed or milled and how the final shade will be characterised.
When E-max may not be ideal
E-max is a strong all-rounder, but it is not the answer to every case. Very heavy grinders, or teeth taking large biting loads at the back of the mouth, may be better served by zirconia. Where a single front tooth needs to match delicate, highly translucent neighbours, layered feldspathic porcelain can look more lifelike. And where the goal is a small, reversible change, composite bonding removes less tooth. A dentist should weigh these trade-offs rather than defaulting to one material for the whole mouth.
